Payment Types

As of December 10, 2025, we now accept contactless bank cards in addition to Clipper cards (plastic and mobile), and paper tickets. Contactless bank card payments automatically default to the Clipper fare.

Each passenger needs his/her own ticket, contactless bank card, or Clipper account (plastic or mobile). Please have ticket, contactless bank card, or Clipper (plastic or mobile) ready when entering the fare gate or when boarding.

Vouchers from other operators and tour/sightseeing companies are NOT accepted on Golden Gate Ferry. Clipper fares and contactless bank card fares are not accepted on Giants Ferry.
